The Décor Award 2020
Winner of The Décor Award
Express Building, Manchester
Photocast, working with the architects and interior designers, helped create a dynamic link to the history the iconic Grade II listed building, now re-purposed as modern office accommodation. Photocast created no less than 62 engravings of newspaper front pages in the style of letterpress printing blocks. They used photoengraving zinc and magnesium sheet etched with hydrochloric acid – exactly the method used by the Daily Express to produce printing plates before digital technology took over.
N1 Visual Solutions
A new coffee lounge in Nottingham and there’s nowhere else quite like it. It has dodgems, a fairgraound waltzer and even a secret VIP tattoo room in the basement. N1 went to town on the décor – window graphics, LED lighting effects, wall graphics, temporary machine wraps, illuminated cubes as well as internal and external signage.
Signs Express, Central Lancs
The Blackpool Express
A simply stunning backdrop to the 2019 Christmas display at Blackpool Victoria Hospital. Each window was 5m high by 1.6m wide and scene, which could be viewed from both sizes, was printed on a silicone adhesive frost film (for easy removal). SXCL also produced and installed the textured floor graphics, train tracks and frozen pond, and wrapped the ‘station’.
