The Leisure & Retail Award 2020

Winner of The Leisure & Retail Award

Described as a covered street rather than a shopping centre, St Stephens in Hull City Centre had developed new branding and Sapphire Signs won a competitive tender to create a range of signs , including  totems and high-level internal and external illuminated signage, to promote the brand and help increase footfall.  A great demonstration of what high quality signage can do in the retail environment.

Highly Commended

Placemarque

Royal Victoria Place, Royal Tunbridge Wells

As part of the refurbishment of the retail destination in Tunbridge Wells, Placemarque recommended replacing existing suspended directional signs with new wayfinding totems, incorporating searchable digital touch screens. plus a full family of signs.  Produced from Corian with polished stainless steel trims to create a floating appearance the new signage delivers a softer, more inviting ambience and reflects the ethos of a high-end retail mall.  Signage production for the project was undertaken by Merson Signs.

Sovereign Signs

Carshop, Bristol

The brief was to create a sign that would be in keeping with the age of the building and SD opted for a cast iron bracket incorporating a traditional-style hanging sign.  “Well executed and right on brief”.
