Signbox for its brilliant sign at ’One Bartholomew’, a Grade A office building set in the heart of London. Briefed to produce wall art for the double height reception area, Signbox devised a barcode that represented the building’s name ‘One Bartholmew’ and produced it using a series of vertical LED neon panels.

About the project

Signbox were responsible for the design, manufacture and installation of the ‘barcode’ at One Bartholomew, the latest completed element of Barts Square between Western City and the creative Farringdon area.

The complex LED illumination solution created an exhilarating visual impact in the double height reception space. The aluminium raft is lightweight and capable of thermal management, while each face element was fabricated from Perspex® Spectrum opal white acrylic, applied with a series of vinyls to achieve the required colour gradient.

Weighing almost one metric tonne and measuring 15 metres long and 2 metres high, and requiring wiring and LED drivers to remain hidden. A meticulous process of research and development, enabled Signbox to create a designed resolution that would meet both the scheme’s complex engineering requirements and the exacting visual brief.
