The host for the 2019 Awards will be Shaun Williamson, a multi-talented actor, stand-up comedian and entertainer.

Probably best known for his role as the hapless Barry Evans in Eastenders, Shaun has been particularly busy since he left the soap with parts in two series of Extras with Ricky Gervais and Stephen Marchant  (when he played a satirical version of himself), Life’s too Short with Warwick Davis, and the film ‘The Invention of Lying’ also with Ricky Gervais. Other credits include Casualty, Holby City, Moving On, Plebs, Mr Winner, Houdini, Scoop, Funland, Inspector Morse and the sitcom, Waiting for God.

He has also enjoyed considerable success on stage in such roles as Monty The DJ in Saturday Night Fever, Fagin in Oliver and Nathan Detroit in Guys and Dolls. He played Mr Perks in the hit stage adaptation of The Railway Children at London’s King’s Cross Theatre, then later played Baron Bomburst & Lord Scrumptious in the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang musical at the London Palladium. He has also appeared in Love Me Tender and Never Forget and numerous comedies including a stint on stage as Fletcher in Porridge.

Shaun is also  an accomplished comedian and singer (he won Stars in their Eyes as Meatloaf) and this multi-talented entertainer is much in demand on the after-dinner circuit where he is highly rated as a speaker, compere and awards host.
